Travel Grant

The Japanese Society for Surgical Metabolism and Nutrition encourages young researchers from countries other than Japan to submit original papers related to clinical and basic research on surgical metabolism and nutrition. Two authors of international session papers will be considered for candidates of a travel grant and will be invited to give oral presentations at the 49th Annual Meeting. The prerequisites for the travel grant are the following:

  1. The applicant must be either a young surgeon or a surgical trainee and must be younger than 40 years old and from a country other than Japan.
  2. Japanese residing abroad are not eligible for the grant.
  3. The official languages of the meeting are Japanese and English (international session).
  4. No interpretation facilities will be available at the meeting.
  5. 5. The maximum amount of the travel grant awarded by the Japanese Society for Surgical Metabolism and Nutrition will be 200,000 Japanese yen. This grant will cover all travel expenses shown on the awardee's airfare receipt when he or she arrives at the venue.
  6. The registration fee and the cost of accommodation during the meeting will be covered by the president of the meeting.
  7. It is the applicant's responsibility to obtain a visa for entering Japan if one is required.
